I love my wife and I love hot dogs – but those are
two very different meanings of the word love!
Work is (or should be) love made visible in the memorable phrase of Kahlil Gibran in The Prophet.
Love is a word we don’t hear often enough, or meaningfully enough, in the workplace.
How different would your organization be if people were coached with love? Criticized with love? Encouraged with love?
The past decade has seen lots of new words being created – google (one of those new words) “new words” and there will be more than 7 billion results.
So wouldn’t it be wonderful to come up with a new word to capture the spirit of making work love made visible – the spirit of coaching and criticizing and encouraging with love?
One more thing: The Beatles had it right – there’s nothing you can do that can’t be done; all you need is love. They also said that the love you take is equal to the love you make.
